Q: How do I choose between the MS and Y2 series?
A: As a rule of thumb: choose MS aluminum for small power with weight and heat dissipation requirements (typically frames 56~132, 0.06~7.5kW). Choose Y2 cast iron for medium to large power requiring high strength and low vibration (frames 160~355, 7.5~315kW). If unsure, tell us your equipment type and power, we will recommend the right fit.
Q:Can drip proof motors be used outdoors?
A: Drip proof enclosures only protect against vertically falling liquid, they are not rainproof, dustproof, or water jet resistant. For outdoor use, a rain cover must be added, or an IP55+ rated version should be selected. We can customize both options.
Q:Are 50Hz and 60Hz interchangeable? How does performance change?
A: The windings are dual frequency designed and can be switched directly. Note: at 60Hz, speed is approximately 20% higher than at 50Hz (e.g., a 4 pole motor runs ~1450rpm at 50Hz vs ~1750rpm at 60Hz), with corresponding changes in power and torque. Please confirm the target grid frequency before export, we set factory parameters accordingly.
