Two Stage Cycloidal Drive consists of two separate cycloidal reduction units connected in series. It achieves extremely high reduction ratios through cascaded small-tooth-difference planetary meshing. Speed and load are reduced and distributed step by step. While retaining the shock-resistant merit of cycloidal transmission, it delivers much lower output speed and greater torque multiplication. This two stage cycloidal drive is widely applied in low-speed heavy-duty feeders, large agitators, slewing supports and heavy indexing mechanisms for industrial systems requiring ultra-slow output rotation.

Two cascaded cycloidal stages
Two sets of cycloidal pinwheel assemblies transmit power sequentially. The total ratio is the product of each individual stage ratio, delivering extreme reduction ratios impossible for single-stage models while maintaining inline coaxial layout.
Phase-offset vibration suppression
Cycloidal discs inside each stage are arranged out of phase. Inertial forces from both stages counteract each other. It runs smoother with less torque ripple at low speed compared with single-stage high-ratio alternatives.
Graded load relief structure
Load is shared on the first stage before the second stage receives amplified torque. Peak stress on transmission components is buffered to improve fatigue life.

Ultra-low output speed available
No auxiliary gearing required. Cascaded stages reach very slow rotational speed, ideal for large tank agitators and heavy slewing platforms.
Stable reversing performance
Extra meshing redundancy softens impact during forward-reverse switching. It transfers shock gently and works reliably for heavy-duty rotary equipment with frequent direction change.
Flexible frame combination
Front and rear stage frames can be matched freely. Users configure sizes according to target torque and speed instead of over-sizing the whole unit only for ratio needs.

Q: How is the total ratio calculated for two stage cycloidal drive?
A: Total reduction ratio equals the ratio of the first stage multiplied by the ratio of the second stage, reaching ratios up to thousands.
Q: What is the rotation direction difference from single-stage type?
A: Single-stage reverses rotation; standard two-stage cycloidal drive keeps input and output in the same rotation direction.
Q: Which one is more efficient, two-stage or single-stage cycloidal drive?
A: Single-stage has higher efficiency under the same material and manufacturing standard. Two-stage sacrifices minor efficiency for high reduction capability.
Q: Can two stage cycloidal drive be hollow shaft?
A: Yes. Hollow shaft versions allow cables or pipelines to pass through the center, preferred for rotary tables and positioners.
Q: Does two-stage design have higher oil leakage risk?
A: It has an extra independent sealing chamber. When oil level is filled separately for each chamber, sealing reliability matches single-stage units with proper maintenance.
