Q:What basic requirements should be followed during gearbox installation?
A: Ensure perfect coaxiality of input and output shafts and fasten the mounting base tightly. Fill lubricant to the middle scale for horizontal gearboxes and follow official oil level standards for vertical types.
Q: Can gear oils of different brands be mixed when refilling?
A:Mixing different brands is forbidden. Different oil additives may trigger chemical reactions and corrode internal components. Always refill or replace with gear oil of the same specification.
Q:How long can an idle gearbox be stored before lubricant replacement?
A:Lubricant will oxidize and degrade if stored for more than 12 months. Drain all old oil and fill new gear oil before restarting the equipment.
